It is likely that learners will have substantial experience at middle or senior leadership level in schools. If your background is teaching, you will already be an expert in curriculum and pedagogy. If a member of financial or operations teams, you will have significant expertise in your field. You may already be a headteacher or you may have been appointed to, or aspire to, a leadership role across a number of schools. Gaps in your knowledge and skills are likely to relate to the theoretical and practical aspects of running an organisation.
Contextualised for education
This programme is designed to equip such applicants with knowledge and skills in the leadership and management of an organisation such as a Multi-Academy Trust or group of schools. You will learn from the evidence of how successful organisations lead and manage their workforce, set and implement strategy and vision, and manage change. This will include working with governors and trustees and dealing with accountability. A key characteristic of the programme is providing opportunities for reflection on practical issues facing learners’ schools/trusts.
Because the majority of tuition is online this programme is highly accessible to a diverse range of individuals including those who traditionally face barriers in participating in these kinds of activities.
